VS2008 Snippet Support

Hi,

I'm looking at using the IWebCF module and I'm using VS2008 and .NET 3.5. The snippet install you have is only for VS2005. Can you release a VS2008 installer.

Thanks

It works in VS2008, that is what I used to create them and to create the demo project / tutorial. The installer is a little weird, you have to select a folder for each IDE for each snippet. Hopefully this will help explain what I mean: http://iweb.adefwebserver.com/ExampleCode/HowtoinstallIWebCFcodesnippets/tabid/77/Default.aspx

Thanks!

Ok I think my problem is that I'm using C# and so it's not showing up in the snippets...and for good reason.

I guess I jumped the gun too quick. I think my original post should have been something like this, is VS2008 (NET 3.5) fully supported in IWebCF 2.0? And additionaly, although I know DNN is written in VB.NET, can we see some C# examples in the future, including C# snippets for us C# people :)

Thanks

Unfortunately IWebCF will not support C# in the near future :(

Though IWeb (ASMX) has a C# version that you may want to checkout: http://www.codeplex.com/IWeb/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=17049

The problem is that to maintain a single address to access the services, all of the methods have to be compiled into a single class. There is currently no way to do this with multiple languages...

Can you not simply create two versions?

This is the kind of thing that "others that want to help" can do. It actually only took me 2 hours to convert IWeb to C#. We have a license from http://www.elegancetech.com/CSVB/CSVB.aspx to help anyone who is willing to do the conversion for IWebCF.

What tool did you use to create the "IWebCF_Snippets.vsi" and where can I get it? What I find online is references to Microsoft Visual Studio Installer 1.1, but surely there must be a never build or tool.

I used a tool called Vsi Builder posted: http://community.visual-basic.it/alessandro/articles/21331.aspx
